Extensive airplay on Radio 1, one of Belgium’s most important radio staions? An elaborate opinion piece in Bloovi, one of Belgium’s most active online communities? I seem to have touched quite a nerve with my message. Yet, I was serving a simple, unmistakable and – unfortunately - a very old truth: we need more women in the technology industry. More specifically, some powerful female role models would be very welcome.
Most women still believe that tech jobs are boring and only attractive to nerds and geeks. But this prejudice has been outdated for quite a while now. Women are not only very welcome in the technology world, they are much needed and they will have a lot more fun than they would hold possible.
